Re: [PATCH] LDAP Bind Authentication
3rd party hosting providers and LDAP vs Kerberos Authentication. I am more familiar with Kerberos authentication. I know that i can print to a kerberized printer without sending my password to the printer. I send a ticket request to the Kerberos Ticket Granting Server (MS Active Directory Domain Con...

Re: maintenance jobs not running
i wonder if an fgrep localtime /* will help you find the culprit. It may take a while, but i would think that system/localtime is defined somewhere in a text file. Maybe something needs a reboot for changes to take effect?

Re: Exporting to Quickbooks
My iif exports have Lastname Firstname whereas yours are Firstname Lastname. The names show up, but we still do not have everything working well. I needed to manually add an extra TAB character using a text editor so that hours were in the DURATION column. Reading on some of the forums and QB websit...

Re: who is in summary
Thanks Shaun. Thanks TimeTrex. Please let us know when Whos In becomes available securely, so we can start using that. i would think, separating out employee details from the employees table would be one way to do this.

NYC has paid $722 Million for a Time and Attendance System
Did you catch this on slashdot? NYC has paid 11 consultants more $600,000.00 each. The CityTime project has 230 consultants averaging $400,000 per year. http://www.nydailynews.com/news/2010/03/26/2010-03-26_city_pours_722m_down_consulting_contracts_black_hole.html http://news.slashdot.org/story/10/0...

Re: Export Data to Quickbooks
If you know perl, finance-iif may help but it is mainly used to parse an already existing input.iif file. Could be used to create an IIF file as well i assume. Probably in CPAN so no need to manually download.

Power Resetting TT A8 / Transactions / Traditional RAM
In order to reset the clock, i power off the clock with the button and pull the power cord, watch the backlight flicker, wait 5 breaths, and plug back in. Obviously, syncing can't occur during this time, but is it safe to assume to transaction processing is done so that non committed transactions ca...

Re: [PATCH] LDAP Bind Authentication
yes, there would be problems. i would feel more comfortable with a minimal 'read only' ldap / krb / ads host. Could be hosted on the customer premises or at timetrex.com. Since were mainly talking a list of companies and users, may be timetrex.com ondemand would host this read-only section of openld...

Re: Increase Employee ID field on TT A8 Biometric to hold 32bits
thanks for pointing out a workaround in tt, but the employee number needs to sort outside of tt such as csv and QuickBooks. Further, errors should show up in the audit log when the a8 rejects an id and therefore an employee, not indicate the upload was successful. The 3 employees with 9 digit employ...

Increase Employee ID field on TT A8 Biometric to hold 32bits
Can't the processor inside the A8 do 32 bits so why is the employee id field limited to 7 digits? i used the employee hire date as YYYYMMDDxy in the "Employee Number" field which TimeTrex on-demand handled easily. But YYYYMMDDxy would not sync to the TTA8 because the A8 can only hold a 7 d...
