TimeTrex Time and Attendance

I am trying to create a page that will display the total hours they work for the Pay Period. I was wondering if there is a class I can call if I have the username. some thing like getpayperiodtotal($userid); I look at your api pages but since I am a noob it is hard to make sense of it.
