Email notifications using "Exceptions policy" - but I dont..

Post by rasmuspersson1000 »

I wonder if I have configured this correctly - since I don't get any email notifications, or I did get one yesterday but since I had it configured 7 days ago its pretty strange?

Im using version: 7.0.2 and I run it local on a server.

My goal is that I want the email notification sent to person "B" and "C". Both should have this email once "A" make an exception, based on the "Exceptions policy".

I did it this way:

1. Configure the "Exceptions policy". My goal is that I want notifications if person "A" are 1min late/early and if person "A" works below 8h. Person "A" start his work at 09:15 and go home at 17:45. This with 30min lunch. Therefore I did config it like this:

2. Configure the "Hierarchy" as below. If person "A" make "Exception" person "B" and "C", the superiors, get a notification.

3. Last but not least I did input this to person "A", and under Policy Groups:

So - what I did wrong here? Why I dont get the emails?

I also miss the email-configuratior? Like SMTP and such, or how the software can handle this without email-servers?

Please check the following:
- Check Employee Information to make sure correct email addresses are set up.
- Make sure that Notifications are enabled in Employee Preferences.
- Please provide us with your registration key located at Help -> About.

As a reminder please note that Exceptions cannot be tested manually creating or editing punches. An employee can only trigger exception emails by actually punching in/out themselves

Hi

Person B and C always get the first message, when he/she punch-in, but nothing else.

Yesterday I (think) configure the "Exceptions policy" so that person B and C will get message if person A punch out/in to early/late. That means person B and C should always get a email regarding person A and his/her punches? Correct?

The problem is that person B and person C don't get the emails. They only get the once, when person A punch in to late. Thats the only one person B and person C gets :(

Some small update. I now always get the message if Person A punch in late or if person A are out late, but I don't get it if person A is early out or early in.

I found out that I need to "re-stamp" all his time (Save & Next), to get above messages but I still miss when Person A punch in to early and if person A leaves to early.

Ideas?

In the first screenshot you posted you'll notice two Exceptions: In Early (S3) and Out Early (S5). The In Early Exception is not checked and so is disabled.
These two Exceptions will assist you with employee early punch conditions.

So your Start/Stop window is set to 00:00, which is likely causing your problem, the default value is 02:00, try that instead.
