Using database on different drive?

Post by nrpreston »

Can the program be installed with the database stored on a different drive than the program files?

My server uses a system drive and a data drive. The OS and application programs are on C:, and all server data is on D:. That way, the backups don't have to recopy the system files every time. If the data drive fails, the system drive should still permit the server to operate for recovery operations, and if the system drive fails, the data should still be intact.

However, I haven't seen any options during my test installation to specify the location of the database. Is it possible to do this without doing a manual installation?

(I saw a similar question during a search, but he never received an answer.)

You would have to do a manual install in order to achieve what you are looking for.
