Meaning of M2 notation & star

In terms of the timesheet, what is the meaning of the following notations. I checked through the admin guide but could not locate an answer:

a) M2 - why M and why 2
b) Difference between when the above showing in red or black
c) The meaning of the star that displays next to times (after they have been entered)

For information please see the Exception Policies section of the TimeTrex Administrator Guide:

b) Difference between when the above showing in red or black
Red text indicates a Critical priority Exception.
Black text indicates a Low priority Exception.

c) The meaning of the star that displays next to times (after they have been entered)
The * indicates Notes have been entered and accompany the Punch.
