Shared Hosting - Cannot turn off magic_quotes_gpc

Is there a way to run this application even though I cannot set magic_quotes_gpc to off?

Is there a way to do this via .htaccess?

Unfortunately there is not.

Any good shared hosting company will allow you to have a custom PHP.ini file for just your own applications where you can turn it off.

If this isn't the case you will need to find a new hosting company.
