Total Time ignores certain days for certain users

Post by gbl »

I have one employee where their Total Time ignores any shifts on Sundays.
Delete the punches, alter times on the punches.. add punches to a future Sunday. The Total Time for that day displays properly, but is not included in the Accumulated Time Total Time does not include Sundays for this employee.

This problem began on 2.2.6, gentoo, postgres 8.03. I then upgraded to 2.2.16 same machine. Finally, I moved to 2.2.16 on postgres 8.3.3 on a Kubuntu 8.04 machine.

Ideas?

Sounds like an issue with the pay periods. When you click on the day that isn't being included in the accumulated time, what does it say near the bottom of the timesheet for the pay period?

Now if you click a day before, and a day after, what does the pay period say for each?

Click on the day-of:

Pay Period: Sun, Nov 23 2008 to Sat, Nov 29 2008

Click on the day-after:

Pay Period: Sun, Nov 23 2008 to Sat, Nov 29 2008

Click on the day-before:

Pay Period: Sun, Nov 16 2008 to Sat, Nov 22 2008

What is interesting is that the total time does change when clicking on a Sunday to show just the Sunday time. Click on Monday, and the Monday-Saturday time is totaled, while Sunday is excluded. Look at the prior week to see if perhaps the Sunday time is included there, but it is not.

Strange,

The Admin->Pay Period Schedules->View Pay Period->Import Punches did fix the problem. Thanks a ton!

I have only one pay period, and have never modified it since the original install. Any idea what creates the discrepancy, requiring the need to import punches?

Thanks again,

It can be all sorts of reasons, adding employees to the pay period schedule late, making adjustments without importing after, maintenance jobs not running properly, the list goes on.
