Timetrex Station - TT-A8 - Edit station Help

Post by blabj »

Can someone describe exactly what the following manual operations do on a TT-A8 timeclock:

(1) Download data (just punch data?)

(2) Upload data

(3) Upload configuration

Also - "Enable Automatic Punch Status" - what does this do? I'm thinking it eliminates the requirement of "Check-IN" or "Check-OUT" function key, but nothing changes on the timeclock.

Also - what are the "Configuration Modes" - like "Enable Work Code (Mode 1)"?

And the work code field lengths - obviously related to Configuration modes - but what does it mean?

Thanks,

Download Data will force a download of all punch data from the last download date.

Upload Data will force a upload of all employee information required by the clock.

Upload configuration will force a upload of just clock configuration data.

"Enable Automatic Punch Status" will cause TimeTrex to automatically determine punch status for all "Check In" (default status) punches made on the clock. The employee can still force other punches if they want though, such as breaks.

"Enable Work Code" will cause the clock to ask employees to enter Work Codes with each punch.

Since the clocks only allow a single Work Code field to be entered at this time, TimeTrex uses the Work Code Field Lengths to take a single work code and decipher multiple other codes from it, for example, branch, department, job and task codes.

Work codes can be up to 9 digits, so you can for example have the first 2 digits be the branch, the next 2 be the department, the next 2 be the job, and the final 3 be the task. Or you could just have all 9 digits be the department code for example.
