Can't generate pay stubs; "wage not set" error message

I am trying to process payroll for a new employee. It fails to generate a paystub and says "No earnings. Employee may not have any earnings for this time period, or the wage may not be set." I have verified that this person does have hours because earlier in processing payroll I can see the hours on the timesheet summary. So I think it's a problem with the wage. I have verified about a billion times that there is a wage set, and all of the settings are the same as a previous employee (for whom I was able to calculate payroll just fine). In addition, I have verified that the wage effective date is correct, and is set way before the hours she started working. I have no idea how to fix this. Thanks!

Did you recalculate the employees timesheet after adding their wage?

I'm possibly not understanding exactly what this means, but when processing payroll I see the time sheet summary and have viewed/refreshed that after adding the wage. But the wage shows up as blank on the report, although the total time worked for the employee is correct. And I have clicked the refresh button on the timesheet itself. Is there some other way to "recalculate the employee timesheet"? Thanks.
