TimeTrex Time and Attendance

We are trying to update on a Linux box. Our original version 5 install is under /root/timetrex/timetrex. However, if I try to run the installer as root it fails saying it must be run as a normal user. If I run as a normal user who is a member of the root group (only way that user could access the /root folder) it fails saying it can't write to the scripts folder under /root/timetrex/timetrex

Is there any way for us to update?

You will need to change the permissions of all the files under /root/timetrex/ so your other user can read/write them, then try doing the upgrade after that.
