Manual install and upgrading PostgreSQL

we are running Timetrex 5.2.3 with PostgreSQL 8.3 and IIS. We are looking to update to the newer version but I cannot find instructions regarding the PostgreSQL upgrade. Do I manually update the SQL to 9.3 and then Timetrex?

Am I able to run Timetrex 5.3 on PostgreSQL 9.3 for a while and then upgrade Timetrex after. That will make it easier to troubleshoot errors.

okay I will try that today. are there any detailed instructions regarding the upgrade and Timetrex? I didn't see any in the forums. I mean instructions for moving Timetrex to PostgreSQL 9.3.

The PostgreSQL upgrade is not specific to TimeTrex. Please read the PostgreSQL upgrade documentation for assistance.
