Thank you Shawn. When I saw the behavior, I was pretty certain this was the case. Have a good one!

Accrual Dates
1. Clearly state what is happening, or what isn't happening that you feel should. If there are any error messages include the FULL EXACT error message. We're testing TT in a non-production environment. A small group of employees have been back-filling timesheets so they get the "feel" of ...

MySQL vs. PostgreSQL
Thank you, Shaun. I happen to be more fluent in MySQL so that's why I chose it. We don't plan on using for more than time tracking (not payroll) right now, and since I have a nightly backup scheduled (and could backup more frequently if need be), and lots of disk space (for now), I think I'll stay w...

Which database to use?
In my trolling for answers & info, I've come across a couple of posts which have said that PostgreSQL is the better DBMS to use with TT instead of MySQL, for reasons of stability & reliability. Fact, fiction or somewhere in between? And, if PostgreSQL is better to use, how (and if) would the...

OK, that makes sense when viewed in that light ... I guess my bulb was burnt out.
Also, the upgrade to 2.2.16 is in place and working.

Accrual / Rollover
Shaun - you are correct in your understanding. This is not uncommon, from my very unscientific survey, with the range of carryover from not being allowed to carry over ANY vacation to being allowed to carry over two weeks (which is the most I've seen in the non-government sector). That's OK. With th...

Rollovers with Accrual Policy
Maybe I'm just being dense, but here goes: The company I work for allows you to earn 3 weeks of vacation per year but only carry over 1 week of it to the next. I'm unsure if this can be set up in the Accrual Policy in TT. Currently, the settings I have on the "Edit Accrual Policy" page are...

This is probably one of those "not really stupid but I'm going to ask it anyway" questions: So if a holiday has passed (like US Labor Day) but you're still within the pay period (like we are), the holiday policy won't automatically insert the absence for it into an employee timeshee...

Degrees of Precision
I'm working on setting up accruals, and those policies are OK. What I'm doing is assigning people their initial balances, like 14.866 hours of vacation. If I enter 14.866 and click "Submit" it comes back with 14.87 (which makes sense from a rounding perspective).

Degree of Precision
A question regarding degree of precision: I've noticed that the decimals only go out 2 places (tenths and hundredths). Is there any way to go one more step to the thousandth or is that "by design" (i.e. it's the way it's programmed or stored in the database)? Personally I don't have an iss...

Company_id invalid?
This thread has been very helpful! I'm in the middle of importing about 30 users into TT and the dry run has executed properly... with a little tweak. I only have one company and one default_branch_id (both with values of 1) and are represented as such in the file_to_be_imported.csv. However, when I...

Manual install worked and tips for those needing help
Manual install worked fine. Some tips I might give to others who are struggling with this under a linux distro: Pre-installation Print out the README file. Please. Thanks Shaun - I'll give it a try and see what happens. Normally I wouldn't bother with this PPC but it's the most powerful system we have and to say I'm on a shoestring budget would be overstating the case!

I've got an older box that is already maxed out on RAM (512MB). However, with some other tuning (restricting apache processes to 5, removing unneeded modules, etc) and mysql optimization, we're cooking along nicely now... although it is unnerving to see your web app merrily on its way as you observe...

PHP.INI settings
I'm looking to conserve as much memory as I can on my poor little Ubuntu server. In PHP.INI I have set the maximum size of scripts at 32M (default is 8M). What does TimeTrex need that setting to be to work?
Anyone out there played with this setting?

Sprije - I'm in a similar boat, as the PC I'm running TT on is maxed out in RAM and between apache, mysql and the cron job I'm doing a virtual juggling act. Other things you can try (YMMV): Adjust your web server settings. For example, I use apache and have limited the child processes to 5. Links: h...
