Reverting back to hybrid
I had AD authentication working, but now for some reason it stopped working and no matter what account I try to login with it tells me bad username/password. How do I go into the system and manually change the setting back to hybrid login so I can login and troubleshoot the problem?

Re: Single sign on
indeed it does but the user must actually type their username / password. The feature request i'm asking for is "single sign on" that allows using the user's current logged in windows session to authenticate to timetrex.

Re: Let's make importing users from Active Directory easier
Hi Shaun and thanks for your reply. I agree that the user interface in version 5 for importing is better, but it still requires a CSV file, and still requires that I get down and dirty into preparing said CSV file and makes this guide still "useful and needed". It does not seem to connect ...

Re: Let's make importing users from Active Directory easier
Step 3, combine step 1 and step 2: In step 1 we found we had to do this to generate a csv: csvde -f domain.csv -r (objectclass=user) -l "sn,givenname, department, mail" In step 2 we found out what the AD attributes we are looking for are. So step 1 + step 2 = csvde -f domain.csv -r (objectcl...

Re: Let's make importing users from Active Directory easier
Step 2; What the heck was that HUGE dump of csv nonsense in step 1, and how to translate AD attributes to timetrex's needs: Honestly this is the section that is giving me most trouble. That dump of a "CSV mapping" as timetrex calls it is information overload and far beyond my knowledge. I ...

Re: Let's make importing users from Active Directory easier
Step 1, How to generate a user list from AD: Since we don't know the user's actual start date, we'll use the user's AD creation date as a benchmark. In our case this usually isn't more than 1 week away from the user's actual start date so it will give us a good estimate. A guide to get data from AD ...

Let's make importing users from Active Directory easier
I'm a PC administrator for a company, and as the PC administrator I have access to a list of all users (through active directory) but I lack alot of the user-specific information that timetrex is looking for (like exact start dates). I digress. Our Human Resources department doesn't want to give tim...

Re: Importing users automatically
thank you for your prompt reply. Do you know of a good site of people who have plugins for this purpose? I realize that the information in AD won't be useful so much for Time Trex itself and that "user intervention will be required" anyway... but there are good reasons to have it done this...

Importing users automatically
Hello, Figured I'd follow the prescribed method of asking for help, and I'll include logs if deemed necessary but this is more of a question than anything else. 1. Clearly state what is happening, or what isn't happening that you feel should. If there are any error messages include the FULL EXACT er...
