Have you made any changes under Company -> Permission Groups? I have just done a complete reinstall. The steps i have done at this point 1. Completed quick start wizard 2. Created a branch, a department, a schedule template 3. Created 2 users 4. Created a hierarchy Sent a msg from ajones to ndavies...

I haven't been able to replicate this issue yet, have you modified the permission groups from the default permissions at all? I dont think so, to be honest, I have been configuring this a bit blind, so maybe clicked something i shouldn't have. Where would l go to modify the default permission group...

Can you please post a full uncropped screenshot showing the error message? I have tried this a couple of times now with different users in different hierarchy. Sames result.
