Re: Passwords do not work after upgrade

I was using version 11.5, now 12.7.3 . I got a red warning across the top, like when a pay period isn't closed, saying timetrex is out of date and calculation could be incorrect, update immediately.

Re: Passwords do not work after upgrade

Is there a setting for that somewhere? I guess I don't mind manually upgrading especially if it might create a problem with passwords during operating hours. I'm using virtual box also.

Re: Passwords do not work after upgrade

I was able to fix this by changing the timetrex.ini.php to the original file before the upgrade.

Passwords do not work after upgrade

I'm running Timetrex 11x on Ubuntu server 18. Works great and I decided I wanted to get rid of the Red warning saying I need to upgrade. So I downloaded the current Timetrex (12x) deb file and installed it the following way: *Double clicked on it and the deb installer successfully installed it. *Wen...

Re: Cron job errors

Here is some more info. I can manually run the jobs but I get this output below. user@timetrex:~$ sudo php /usr/share/timetrex/html/maint/cron.php ERROR: Running as 'root' forbidden! To avoid permission conflicts, must run as the web-server user instead. Example: su www-data -c "/usr/bin/php /u...

Took the $ off and it still doesn't work.
Can you post an example to a string that is known to work?

Re: Cron job errors

Sorry about that, the cut and paste missed the end and I didn't catch it. This is the full string in the crontab: * * * * * su www-data -c "/usr/bin/php /usr/share/timetrex/html/maint/cron.php"> /dev/null$ ( I have also tried editing that string in multiple ways with no luck, I even set ti...

Re: Restore database and files in Linux Ubuntu

Ok. I was able to restore the database. I needed to create an Ubuntu username the same as the database user name to avoid the "peer to peer" error. This then worked doing a pg_restore while logged in as the same user name. Now, I just need to know where to upload the "storage" fi...

Re: Restore database and files in Linux Ubuntu

I still have no luck migrating from Windows to Ubuntu. I can't restore using pg_restore, typing that in terminal does nothing. Any further directions on how to do this? Like what directory to run pg_restore in and what it should look like when the "timetrex_database.sql" is located in the ...

Re: Restore database and files in Linux Ubuntu

Yep, I have used that page to migrate Windows to windows a few times, works great windows to windows. Wasn't able to find any Linux commands in restore_database.bat file. Do you know where the database is located in linux? There is no "timetrex" folder directly on the C: drive in Linux. Th...

Restore database and files in Linux Ubuntu

I'm upgrading from Windows to Ubuntu 16.04 server and need help on what files to transfer and how to update the database. The files and folders in Windows are different from the ones in Linux (a drag and drop is not possible). I have Timetrex up and running on the new computer (linux) but now I need...

Punch in

I can't seem to find a way to do the following: *To limit an employee to only be able to punch in during scheduled hours. In other words, if they are not scheduled they can not punch in. *Not allow multiple "in" or "out" punches in a row. If they are already in, they should not b...

Dashlets

Is it possible to add the "whosin" dashlet to the regular employee dashboard. Right now it does not show on the dropdown to select dashlets. It is an option for administrators, but not regular employees. I can't seem to find a permission to allow this?
Thank you!
