Re: Latest TimeTrex Commnunity on FreeBSD-10.3-RELEASE
Okay, sorry once again to be such a pest but I really would like to get this working on my internal FreeBSD server before I present it to the clients. Here is what I can tell you I've done. The json.so extension is supposedly in there. I also added a line for it in the php.ini file and I would get a...

Re: Latest TimeTrex Commnunity on FreeBSD-10.3-RELEASE
Okay, thanks once again for the assistance. I installed the php json extension, along with several others that defaulted with the port. I saw it in the cleanup status lines after the port finished installing. ===> Cleaning for php70-json-7.0.11 So it's in. I then retried the install from a web brows...

Re: Latest TimeTrex Commnunity on FreeBSD-10.3-RELEASE
Thanks for the assistance. Here is the screen shot of the web page. I'm using Chrome on a Windows 10 Pro desktop. The first progress bar starts and quickly fills the length of itself but then it freezes like this indefinitely.

Latest TimeTrex Commnunity on FreeBSD-10.3-RELEASE
I've got TimeTrex installed on my FreeBSD-10.3-RELEASE server. I tried to follow the instructions in the README.txt file and it all started out well, but I've seem to hit a snag. The browser window has a small dialog with the word initializing and a progress bar that made it to the far right. But th...

php path
By that I assume you mean the php_cli variable in the timetrex.ini.php. I checked this and it was set to the linux world. FreeBSD puts everything not part of the base system in /usr/local so I had to change this to /usr/local/bin/php in lieu of /usr/bin/php. Now does anything need to be restarted or...

Still seeing the error message
The cron jobs are now running under www and all looks well. I cleared the redirect in the crontab entry for a few moments and I can see that the maintenance jobs are running. But I'm still seeing the red headers on the pages and it says the jobs have not been run in the last 48 hours. Is there more ...

I think I have it now
The trick was that cron was not letting me assign the www user from a root cronjob. Funny but I thought that was possble and maybe it is I'm just too dense to get it right. But when I ran crontab -u www -e then entered the syntax, it seems to be working now. Thanks again, I'll see how this get thing...

Still Not Getting The Maintenace Job Right
I tried to access the url you referenced but I got this: The installer has already been run, as a safety measure it has been disabled from running again. If you are absolutely sure you want to run it again, or upgrade your system, please go to your timetrex.ini.php file and set "installer_enabl...

Not Sure What User
I have looked at the httpd.conf file and it is set to run the webserver as user = www group = www When I do a ps -aux I see that there are 10 process running httpd. Nine of them are under user www, and one of them is under root. I'm hoping that means the webserver is running as www, but honestly I d...

Maintainance Jobs Question
OS = FreeBSD-7.1 I'm running this as root's cron job * * * * * /usr/local/bin/php /usr/local/www/data/timetrex/maint/cron.php > /dev/null 2>&1 1. Does it make sense to run this as the webserver user which is "nobody". Since I have free reign on this server I just let the root account r...

Problem with Install on FreeBSD
I installed and ran TimeTrex about a year ago on FreeBSD. It wasn't too difficult but it took some additional packages and tweaking to get it going. But it did run and worked fine. I have just built a new FreeBSD server and I'm installing TimeTrex on it. But when I ran the web interface I got this m...

Don't Seem To Understand Meal Policy
I have made a standard meal policy set to Auto-Deduct 1 hour each day. Since our employees cannot punch in/out that easily at noon, I was hoping this was the way to automatically take care of the noon hour break. But when I punch the employees in at 8:00 AM and then out at 5:00 PM it shows 9 hours w...

Due Diligence
Shaun, Thanks for your assistance. I've been using FreeBSD and Open Source software for a long time but this is the first time that I think I can actually sell the idea to the company. They usually get interested but when they find out that support is limited to only the people interested in it they...

Okay, it's up and running and looking good. Now I've read all 28 pages of the documentation and need the following information: There does not appear to be any place to enter the wage rates for employees. Does the standard version not include thie feature? Where can I find additional documentation o...

It works....lot's of persistence needed though, but it's working. The good news is that I beat the deadline the bosses set for either this or Quickbooks to be working. Now if I can get all the employee data entered over the weekend and then get on with figuring out how to keep 30 somethine ironworke...

Up with the Chickens and Back At 'em
More of the puzzle has been resolved, however, I still think the big problem is going to be getting php5 configured for use with postgres. The install procedure I was recommended to follow did not include any information about this. In fact the ports method didn't ask anything about postgresql. More...

Still Trying with FreeBSD
A little more progress but this is what I was afraid would happen. PostgreSQL-8.2.4 is installed and working. I started postgres. I got php5 and Apache installed and I did a simple "Hello World" php script and it worked with Apache. I then followed the instructions in the README.txt file a...

A little bit further along
FREEBSD setup Okay, I got php-5.2.4 and apache-1.3.39 installed. I installed from the ports instead of my usual install from source. I don't really like the way the ports install changes up the locations of where the files are installed especially with Apache. Compiling from source is easy and it pu...

I really appreciate your reply here. So today this is what happened. The Fedora Core 5 will not install on the drive in the machine I have. Dont' know why, it did several months ago when I was testing Asterisk on Fedora but twice I tried it and twice it booted with the error message, "no operat...

No, it's not so easy....there appears to be a big problem with the modules needed by php5 and apache in order to work with this. It's not just your standard install. And of course when I contacted the help desk, the usual reply of "we really recommend Linux" was what I recieved. Please, an...

New User with FreeBSD
Howdy everyone, We're going to give this thing a try at our very small contracting firm. I'm running FreeBSD-6.2-RELEASE with Apache-1.3.39 and PHP-5.2.4, plus PostgreSQL-8.2.4, wow, I sure hope all this works. If anyone can offer advice on the proper installations and setup I'd appreciate opening a...
