Supervisors should not be able to add or delete employees

Supervisors should not be able to add or delete employees from the system. Deleting (or adding) employees is a permanent action and should be reserved for System Admins as we consider these types of actions system altering. We also don't think they should be able to modify employee data either. That...

Employee Delete

We are using MYSQL. In TimeTrex if you delete an employee, it is only a logical delete, correct? So, by that theory, you should be able to edit the database and change the deleted flag from 1 to 0 and the employee would show back up in the system? I ask this because we have discovered that Superviso...

What if they are in the hierarchy, but have no subordinates? And are not sharing with another supervisor on their level. The system does seem to accept that they have no subordinates if you use the My Timesheet from the drop-down menu, but it still lets you select any employee from the system if you...

Possible Bug

If I setup a user as a Supervisor (Subordinates Only) they are still able to add punches to employees that are not their subordinates if they go to the Mass Punch interface.

They cannot, however see any non-subordinates if they go to My Timesheet.

Alrighty, that was simple. Thank you! Since I don't use databases often I figured deleted items would not show up in a standard query, but now that I think about it, I knew that nothing is really deleted in a database unless you are doing something wrong. Is 'deleted' something standard to flag some...

MYSQL Duplicate Employee

Any idea why this employee would show up with a MYSQL query 2 times, but only shows up once in the web interface? select employee_number, user_name from users; returns (snippet): | 2 | bbrazier | | 2 | bbrazier | If I change the users employee number to say, 35, I get: | 2 | bbrazier | | 35 | bbrazi...

Setting up a timeclock

We have a TTA8 that we purchased from you along with the Business License version of Timetrex. I am having a hard time tracking down the setup instructions on how to tell Timetrex to poll the timeclock for punches. Or is it the other way around that the timeclock uploads the punches? Either way, I d...

Delete Recurring schedule

If an employee has a recurring schedule with no end date, what happens in the following scenarios if all punches are current: 1) The schedule changes. Do you modify the recurring schedule? Delete it and create a new one? 2) Employee is terminated. Is it safe to delete that recurring schedule? What c...

Saved Reports Not Available for other logins

I have created and tested a series of reports that I would like to make available for the supervisors. Is this possible or do they have to create their reports from scratch?

Report: Accrual Earn & Usage Report

We get a few odd requests for people looking to see when vacation was taken and right now the only thing we can do is check the Accrual List Detail. Essentially, it would be similar to the time sheet or punch report. Choose time sheet periods and employees. It shows only the dates employees earn acc...

So, does that mean if I create a Weekly overtime policy and assign it to a Policy Group, any employees assigned to that policy group will get overtime if their clocked in time goes over 40 hours?

Accrual Policy Name Change

I changed the name of an Accrual Policy, but it did not update anywhere else. (reports, etc.)

What do I need to do to make it show up properly everywhere else?

Rounding Problems

Ok, I've been trying to figure this out, but I have hit a wall due to my inexperience with payroll systems. I need to be able to show the actual punch times (or imported punch times) on reports. I also need the system to round the punch times for payroll purposes (so a few minutes early in or late o...

Can you delete the existing ones easily? Like a batch delete?

Or, do I have to delete all employees, and re-import everything?

If you import exact punches, and you have a rounding policy in place, does the system round the punches permanently or can you get rid of the rounding policy and have the punches show again as actual?

Hi Shaun, I was just coming in here to ask the same question as Michelle. Our company is the same way. We give out 80 hours per year, and they are allowed to carry-over a maximum of 40 hours of unused time into the new year, but that does not affect the 80 hours they start accruing in the next year....

I was using special characters in the password. Thanks shaun!

Now, just to clarify, is the software supposed to create the MYSQL database and user on the fly, or do the database and user need to be created before running setup?

Oh, I can create the items, but step 5 in the README says:

5. Edit timetrex.ini.php and confirm that all paths are correct.
The installer will create and configure the database
for you, as well as modify other non-path settings for you.

I'll create the database and user account and test it.
