Re: Restrict certain PCs to the old PHP GUI interface only?
Not quite a fix, and an admittedly ugly hack at that, but how about just making a landing page that includes direct links to each interface? <html> <head>stuff...</head> <body> <a href="http://link.to/interface/login.php">Use the old interface</a> <a href="http://link.to/interface/fle...

Double-Click to edit
Training new managers on TimeTrex, I continually see them try to double-click on a table cell to try and edit the contents. Seems like this owuld be possible to implement without too much hassle? (using editing a punch as an example) If the cell is empty, user double clicks, it opens the new punch d...

Always Visible Log Off button
It is a little thing, I know.. But having the logoff button buried in the "My account" tab makes it too easy for an employee to forget to log off when they are done with their session. I feel the log off button should have a permanent home on the screen. (perhaps in the top right of the to...

Prevent (or at least warn) negative accrual balances?
Is there a way in TimeTrex to prevent negative balances of vacation/sick time? Or at least warn the manager when they are entering an absence that the employee does not have enough available time accrued? Our company does not allow you to use more paid time off than you have available.. So, if an em...

Re: Fluctuating Overtime formula??
Thank you. I will let the higher ups know. Do you have a timeline on when that next release might be? Are we talking weeks or months? I have been doing research into flexible overtime (since I knew nothing about it). Google is your friend! For anyone who might have questions I will go ahead and post...

Re: Fluctuating Overtime formula??
OK, I googled "fuctuating overtime", and I understand the reasoning, etc.. and why it is used... Seems common enough.. which still leaves the question of how/where I set this up in TimeTrex?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Fluctuating Overtime formula??
I had not heard about this type of setup, so... The simple question is: When setting up an overtime policy, can you use complex formulas, or is it a simple multiplication by the number listed in "Rate"? More detail... I need to know if there is a way to setup the following type of formula ...

Re: Importing Accruals CSV layout...
Employee, Accrual Policy, Type, Amount, Date Just to make sure I understand... To import the two (or more) policies... I would need a separate line for each accrual policy, per employee. For example: Employee ID,Accrual Policy,Type,Amount,Date 1,vacation,paid,24,10-Dec.2012 1,sick,paid,32,10-Dec.20...

Importing Accruals CSV layout...
I just have a couple of questions about setting up our csv file to make importing accrual balances as easy and painless as possible... What fields are required to correctly import an initial balance for (existing) employees? We have 2 accrual policies (Sick and Vacation). Do I need to import the ini...

Regular Employees edit City?
Actually two short questions... How do I allow regular employees to edit the "City" field in their contact info? and... How can I set it up for the administrator to be able to see when all of the timesheets have been authorized? (Or where can the administrator see this info?) Running TimeT...

Re: grant "Supervisor" ability to create job titles
Ahh.. that would explain it! Thanks! And on a completely unrelated note, I have a basic "Regular Employee" user guide put together, and am working on a similar "Manager Guide" for our in-house wiki... would you be interested in them? I would be glad to post them here in the forum...

grant "Supervisor" ability to create job titles
I would like to grant my department managers (each under the "Supervisor (subordinates only)" permission group) the ability to add/create Job Titles. I am unable to find the correct permission entry to enable this, though... Thanks! {edit} forgive me... running TimeTrex 5.0.8 under the fle...

Re: Supervisor (subordinates only) can't see any subordinate
First off, I want to apologize if I sounded "snippy" or anything in my last post. I'll be the first to admit I was getting frustrated (really with myself) at that point. You have been very helpful. So thank you for that. I Finally get it. I was trying to build the entire chain into each hi...

Re: Supervisor (subordinates only) can't see any subordinate
The Hierarchy tab when editing an employee is a quick way to assign that employee as a subordinate to whatever hierarchies you choose As soon as I did that... nothing worked again... I just don't get it... it should be simple enough... So I figured that I had to have really screwed something up. Un...

Re: Supervisor (subordinates only) can't see any subordinate
OK, so in employee->hierarchy, should you choose that employees immediate "supervisor" (next step up the hierarchy) for each section, or should I choose the hierarchy level that specific employee is a part of? so assuming a hierarchy of: 1-Payroll admin 2-manager 3-employee When setting up...

Re: Supervisor (subordinates only) can't see any subordinate
Ah... I got it to work. I will setup a second test department to make sure I understand... It appears that in the EMPLOYEE setup, under the HIERARCHY tab, the settings in there got jumbled (Probably my own doing, this is a learning setup, so I expect to break a few things along the way!) Once I got ...

Re: Supervisor (subordinates only) can't see any subordinate
Did you select all the objects in the hierarchy, specially the "Permissions" object? Originally, this was selected for the manager, yes, but not for the subordinates. Since you asked, I did add the permissions object to the subordinates hierarchy also. Testing the manager account though, ...

Supervisor (subordinates only) can't see any subordinates...
I am currently testing TimeTrex v5.0.8 for our company. Overall, I am really liking it. My only real complaint so far is that it does not seem very intuitive to setup supervisors/managers and their subordinates, though I understand WHY it is setup the way it is.. Having said that, I actually have tw...
