While creating all our default settings while under permission groups we selected "payroll administrator" for the administrator account. The system sais "permission denied" but now the administrator account has lost the ability it once had. One of them being setting permission groups. it seems like we have now lost our administrator in general. How can we undo this and set it back the way it was?

If you don't have much data in the system yet, the easiest solution is usually to uninstall and reinstall. If you have data that you want to keep, please see this forum topic:
