clocking in and out
Currently TT will not automatically set the In/Out option on the punch like it used to. Is there a reason for this and if so, is there an easy way to change it?
We will need more details then that to determine what is going on. The In/Out option is still automatically set in TimeTrex v1.6.2, it also works fine with our online demo.
What time was the punch that it didn't automatically set the In/Out option, and what time was the punch prior it? As well, what is your pay period schedule daily continuous time set to. Those all have to be factored in.

Your continuous time should be much higher then 2 hours. This is where your problem is, because TimeTrex will only look for punches back as far as the daily continuous time when it attempts to determine the default options.
The daily continuous time should be set to the longest time an employee will have between an In punch and its subsequent Out punch. So if employees punch in at 8:00AM then out again at 5:00PM, but sometimes around 6:00PM, your daily continuous time should be around 10-12 hours.
You do not want a daily continuous time that is too large though, because then TimeTrex will look back into a previous day and start placing punches there instead of on the current day. The maximum daily continuous time you would normally have is 16 hours.
12 hours usually works the best for more companies.
