Determine if Punch In/Out was done by supervisor/admin

Post by quepasa »

Is there a report or way to see what punches for an employee were done by the Supervisor/Admin as opposed to the In/Out window?

Thanks,

The Punch Summary report, if you add the "Station" column, if the station does not exist it was most likely not done through the Punch window, but instead by a supervisor.

It seems that whatever station the original In Punch was done in, is what appears in the Punch Summary report.

If a user punches in normally, and a supervisor punches out for the user, the report will show a Station ID in that line of the report. What's more troubling is that if a user Punches In at a station, then a supervisor changes the punch-in time, the report still shows the Station ID.

Perhaps there should be a field indicating a supervisor punch. If not a field, then maybe a different punch type; for example, if a supervisor creates or changes a "Normal" punch, it is stored as "Normal (a)" and the "(a)" would indicate that the punch was the result of a supervisor/admin adjustment.

The idea is to be able to quickly see if someone is consistently forgetting to Punch in/out, or to make it easier to catch when a supervisor and employee are conspiring to inflate hours.

Should I create a topic in Feature Request for this, or is there already a way to handle this?

Thanks,

TimeTrex logs every action that happens, so you can view the Audit Report to go back and see what is going on. As well it logs the last updated date, and who last updated each punch, however there is no easy way to see that information right now.

You can definitely post this to the Feature Request forum, it will need a lot more discussion there though.
