Help: importing employee list.

Post by Frederick »

Hi, I am having problems importing my customer list or any list at all into Timetrex Community Edition v7.4.4-20140930-150229.
I have mapped the columns of the csv file although I did not indicate any default value nor Parse hint.
I need to know if there is any specific order in which the columns on the file should be? and what can I do to upload the files.
I am using the google chrome browser and I have also cleared the browser cache but the import wizard keep reporting "Unidentified Row"
Attached is the customer list and the error message i get. Thank you.

Here are the headings for the system:

Status,Employee #,Branch,Department,Title,Group,Ethnicity,Gender,First Name,Last Name,Age,
Hire Date,Termination Date,Length of Service,Birth Date,Address 1,Address 2,City,Postal Code,Province/State,Country, Home Phone, Work Phone, Fax Phone,Mobile Phone,SIN/SSN,
Work Email, Home Email

There are a few things that I can see that might be problems:
1) You don't have any employee numbers.
2) You have an age listed, but I don't see an age in the example. The system wants birth date.
3) Your hires dates are in dd/mm/yyyy format, and I suspect the system is expecting yyyy/mm/dd (but that's a guess).

Those are the easy ones. I hope that helps.

Hi, Cynjut and all.
Thanks for the response.
I have imported the "import test file" you sent and still it wouldn't import.
I have also tried to import a list of branches and nothing would import.
When the import failed. The error message I got when I clicked on inspect element in script is <td role="gridcell" style="" aria-describedby="grid_rowIndex">Unknown</td>

Attached is the list of Branches and a snap shop of the error message.
Please help. I need to resolve this issue. It is important to my using Time Trex.
Secondly do I need to be online to import.
Thanks!

What version of TimeTrex are you using?

The "Please upload file again" error is usually caused by invalid installation or an invalid file being uploaded/represented.

Unfortunately Internet Explorer likes to call files something other than what you are uploading, so you may want to see if using a different web browser to see if that makes a difference.

Shaunw
The version is Time Trex Community Edition (On-site) V7.4.4.4-20140930-150229.
The web browser I use is Moxilla Firefox-32.0.3 and Google Chrome 33.0.1750.154.
I have not used Internet Explorer.
Thanks!

Please enable logging as described near the bottom of this post:
