Strict Schedule

Post by roren333 »

Hi, appreciate any help setting up scenario below in TimeTrex. Thanks!

Employee's shift is 9AM-6PM with 1hour break (any time) in between (8hours/day max).

Day 1:
1st Punch in is 9:02AM (2 minutes late)
1st Punch out is 12:00
2nd Punch in is 12:30 (short break- 30 minutes)
2nd Punch out is 6:30PM (30 minutes over time)

Day 2:
1st Punch in is 8:45AM (15 minutes early)
1st Punch out is 12:00
2nd Punch in is 1:30 (long break - 30minutes)
2nd Punch out is 5:45PM (15 minutes under time)

How do we set up the Strict Schedule so that:
1. there would be NO overtime, and early punch-in and short break are not counted (max hours/day is 8 hours)
2. the late punch-in, long break, and under time in punch out will be calculated (8 hours minus late, long break, and under time)
3. superior can edit timesheet of employee with actual punch-in/punch out

We tried to set-up up the maximum shift time to 9hours with 1 hour lunch break, but superior can't edit the actual time (for log purposes) for employee because Timetrex says employee has exceeded max shift time:

You can create shifts in the Schedule view and then use Rounding Policies with the Strict Schedule enabled.

For more information please see the Rounding Policies section of the TimeTrex Administrator Guide:
http://help.timetrex.com/TimeTrex_Admin ... Scheduling

For more information please see the Rounding Policies section of the TimeTrex Administrator Guide:

2. the late punch-in, long break, and under time in punch out will be calculated (8 hours minus late, long break, and under time)
The Strict Scheduling feature of a Rounding Policy should meet your needs.

For more information please see the Rounding Policies section of the TimeTrex Administrator Guide:
http://help.timetrex.com/TimeTrex_Admin ... g_Policies
3. superior can edit timesheet of employee with actual punch-in/punch out
With a proper Maximum Shift Time chosen (usually the maximum length of a shift that an employee could ever possibly work plus an hour) punches can be easily edited.

Hi shanec, thanks for replying to my questions.
Another one though (:

Employee's scheduled shift is still 9AM-6PM with 1hour total break in between. The employee did not punch out/in for the break. We want that total maximum shift time is just 8hrs/day, but I can't indicate 8hrs in the maximum shift time because once the actual punch-in/out (example 8:45AM and 7:30PM) exceeds 8 hours, Timetrex system won't let it happen and we want to see the actual punch in/out in the system. Thanks!
