Clock in/out

Post by justinm »

I keep getting the error:

Incorrect Input!

1. Pay Period is Currently Locked, or Date/Time is incorrect.

The time and date input is correct im assuming because its the default values that are added. Ive got a pay period created as well.

Make sure your pay period is created and that the employee your punching in/out with is actually assigned to that pay period schedule.

I have the same problem
Incorrect Input!

Pay Period is Currently Locked, or Date/Time is incorrect.

I went to Administration->Payroll->Pay period schedule administration
created a new Period Schedule and assigned all users.
Didnt help.
I noticed then when I try to punch in I see that the Time edit box which is grayed out doesnt have the correct time. its 2 hours ahead of time. I did make sure that the time zone is set correctly to my user (GMT+2).

what exactly is Daily Start Time and Continuous Time ?
Is there like a manual?

Did TimeTrex actually create pay periods after you created the schedule? (Click View beside the Pay Period Schedule you created). You need to make sure if you adding a punch on 01-Dec-06 that it falls within a pay period.

As far as the time is concerned, TimeTrex uses the system time with the timezone offset you selected. So if the time is off by 2 hours and your timezone is +2 hours, then I'm guessing your server time is in the proper timezone and MySQL may be incorrectly adding 2 hours to that. All timezone functions are handled by the database, so try selecting a different timezone, or selecting GMT and see if the time is still off.

Yes, we do have a manual, when you're logged into TimeTrex at the top of the page click Help -> Administrator Guide.

Try changing your date format in your preferences (My Account -> Preferences) to DD-MMM-YY ie: 01-Dec-06, then try it again. Its possible it might not be parsing your date correctly.

Also try going to TimeSheet -> MyTimeSheet and adding punches on that screen.

The Cron has nothing to do with this issue. So we'll hold off on looking at that for now.

Enable debug mode as per http://forums.timetrex.com/viewtopic.php?t=89 and set it to verbosity = 10, then try again. It should display a bunch of debug text at the bottom of the punch window that will hopefully help.

There are really only two issues going on here:

1. TimeTrex can't find the proper payperiod to place the punch.
2. TimeTrex is parsing the date wrong causing it to not find the pay period.

Did you try adding the punch in November or October? When you're on the MyTimeSheet page as well, near the bottom right above the "Paid Time" table does it tell you what pay period you are currently in?

If you can post screenshots of this page and the debug text that may help. Or email support@timetrex.com the IP address and login/password for me to login and try it myself would be great too.

The reason was when you created the pay period schedule you set "Create Initial Pay Periods From" to a date in the future, so TimeTrex didn't really create any pay periods for you. The reason you saw pay periods when you clicked "View" beside the pay period schedule was because TimeTrex will actually show you what WOULD be created. The "Status" column is set to "N/A" in this case.

So what I did was create a new pay period schedule with the "Create Initial Pay Periods From" set to 01-Nov-06 so it would create at least one months worth of pay periods for you. This fixed that specific problem.

However now when you go to TimeSheet -> MyTimeSheet you get this error:

Fatal error: Only variables can be passed by reference in D:\Program Files\xampp\htdocs\timetrex\interface\timesheet\ViewUserTimeSheet.php on line 1199

This is very strange, what version of PHP are you running?

"PHP 5.0.5 (cli)" CLI means Command Line Interface, are you sure that matches the version of PHP your IIS or Apache is running?

Something seems really strange, I'm unable to replicate that error on my end here so I'm almost thinking its a bug in PHP somewhere. Can you upgrade to PHP v5.1.6 by chance and try that?

Im new to all that Linux stuff. never worked with Apache, PHP or mySQL before.
To Install everything I used XAMPP.
The first time I tried everything I used XAMPP 1.5.5
* Apache 2.2.3
* MySQL 5.0.27
* PHP 5.2.0 & PHP 4.4.4
* phpMyAdmin 2.9.1.1
* FileZilla FTP Server 0.9.20
* OpenSSL 0.9.8d

I had a lot of difficulties with this so I d/l an older version of XAMPP 1.4.16.
to get the PHP version i went to the PHP folder at d:\program files\XAMPP\PHP and at the command prompt i typed php -v.
thats what I pasted at the previous post.
Is there a different way to know what PHP my apache uses?

I can try installing the PHP version u suggested, although Im not sure how to do it without XAMPP.
I'll give it a try. I hope I dont ruin everything.

Ill post again after I installed it.

If you go to the TimeTrex installer and go to the Requirements page, near the bottom there is a link for Detailed PHP Information. That will tell you what version of PHP your Apache is running.

when trying to do so I get:
The installer has already been run, as a safety measure it has been disabled from running again. If you are absolutely sure you want to run it again, or upgrade your system, please go to your timetrex.ini.php file and set "installer_enabled" to "TRUE". The line should look like:

"installer_enabled = TRUE"

After this change has been made, you can click the "Start" button below to begin your installation. After the installation is complete, you will want to change "installer_enabled" to "FALSE".

Should I do that?

I d/l
php-5.1.6-Win32.zip
and copy its content into my existing php folder. (i made backup)
after that I tried to start my apache but got many dll errors which are related to the PHP.
so i restored to the previous state.

I can try d/l another version of XAMPP, one that might use this ver of PHP.

ok, I decided to uninstall everything and install XAMPP with PHP 5.1.6 and it worked.
the XAMPP version if anyone wants to know is xampplite-win32-1.5.4.zip

I guess there is a problem with 5.0.5 php

Thanks for all your help!

now, about the cron error ill star another thread so other users can see it easily.
