Use Mac Address Instead of Station ID or Ip Address

The issue with using IP addresses for the stations that allow you to punch in and out is that a dishonest employee could still be on the business wifi from just outside the building. The station ID's are too easy to delete with them just being cookie based. However if you used the Mac ID it would be a very secure way to only be able to punch in/out on a very specific station computer.
You could even keep these options but add a mac address option.

Unfortunately MAC addresses aren't visible across network routers and therefore can't be used on the public internet. Even if this did work, if an employee is dishonest enough they could simply have another employee punch them in/out on that device anyways.

The only way to ensure that employees are punching in/out at a specific physical location is to use a device which is locked down and can use a biometric recognition system such as the timeclock tablets with facial recognition that we offer. Since it uses all off-the-shelf hardware, it can be purchased for about $250 currently.
