Post by surya.kunasani »

Dear Sir,

I installed TimeTrex Standard 2.2.10 on windows XP.
In India we will use GMT+5:30 as a time zone.
GMT+5:30 option is not there in time zone
i tried different time zone options but it is giving wrong time.

Thanks & Regards,
Surya.

Unfortunately India Standard Time (IST) conflicts with Israel Standard Time (IST) and Ireland Standard Time (IST).

Therefore try using: Asia/Calcutta instead.

I'm confused by these two statements. If Asia/Calcutta is showing 5:30 hours different, isn't that what you were looking for?

Hi ,

I have installed Time Trex latest version on Fedora Core 8 with postgres.

When we select GMT+5:00 in india , we get the time difference of 30 mins only.
But when we select Asia/Calcutta , it shows a time difference of 5 hours and 30 mins.

There should an option to select t GMT+5:30 instead of GMT+5 , only then it show the correct time for india.

TimeTrex utilizes the timezones installed on your system, and GMT+5:30 is not a standard timezone on many systems.

According to the WorldTimeServer (http://www.worldtimeserver.com/current_time_in_IN.aspx) its 10:25PM in India as I write this, if I change my own timezone in TimeTrex to Asia/Calcutta, the times match exactly.

If this is not working for you, chances are your system timezones are not installed correctly, or they are not the correct ones, as TimeTrex does not maintain its own timezone database, it simply uses your system timezones.

If you are using MySQL, this is a common issue with MySQL. See this FAQ entry for more information: http://forums.timetrex.com/viewtopic.php?t=40
