Premium Policy - Advanced Type

Post by Yajasi »

I am attempting to give an employee premium pay for time they worked in another department. For the first hour in Department-B they get Time-And-A-Half (1.5 x Wage). For the second hour in Department-B they get Double Time (2.0 x Wage). For any time after 2 hours, they get Triple Time (3.0 x Wage).

I have created 3 Premium Policies to accomplish this, but I am not getting the expected results.

Policy 1
  • Policy - Min Time: 00:00
    Policy - Max Time: 01:00
Daily Time - Active After: 00:00
Daily Time - Active Before: 00:00
Differential - Type: Only Selected Department
    Differential - Selection: Department-B
Policy 2
  • Policy - Min Time: 00:00
    Policy - Max Time: 01:00
Daily Time - Active After: 01:00
Daily Time - Active Before: 00:00
Differential - Type: Only Selected Department
    Differential - Selection: Department-B
Policy 3
  • Policy - Min Time: 00:00
    Policy - Max Time: 00:00
Daily Time - Active After: 02:00
Daily Time - Active Before: 00:00
Differential - Type: Only Selected Department
    Differential - Selection: Department-B
Expected Results
Given the Employee worked 08:38 in Department-A and 1:51 in Department-B ...
Policy 1 - 01:00 ... Paystub Account shows 01:00 wage x 1.5
Policy 2 - 00:51 ... Paystub Account shows 00:51 wage x 2.0
Policy 3 - NULL ... Paystub Account not shown

Actual Results
Given the Employee worked 08:38 in Department-A and 1:51 in Department-B ...
Policy 1 - 01:00 ... Paystub Account shows 01:00 wage x 1.5
Policy 2 - 01:00 ... Paystub Account shows 01:00 wage x 2.0
Policy 3 - 01:51 ... Paystub Account shows 01:51 wage x 3.0

Unfortunately TimeTrex doesn't support what you described.

OK thanks - that is unfortunate.

We have decided to manage this premium time with an Absence entry. The supervisor will make be able to manually enter the employees' time worked as a paid Absence whose policy is set to pay out at the wage factors we require.
