Odd Punch Entries

Post by vmp »

We have set up our pay period from 20 - 19 with transaction on 20 or next business day.
We processed Sept payroll for example on the 23rd
Eversince the user's PUNCH IN/OUT is falling short by a day.
i.e. If I punch in / out for today (25 Sep); it falls in yesterday's schedule (24 Sep).
As an admin when I edit the entry, it shows the correct date

What could be going wrong?

Can you give exact dates/times of the punches in question as well as all punches within 24hours of them. As well please provide the TimeTrex version along with the Daily Continuous Time setting that you are using for the pay period schedule.

Sample entries are as below
===================================
--------Sun---------- Mon ----------- Tue --------- Wed --------- Thu --------
-------Sep 23 ----- Sep 24 -------- Sep 25 ------- Sep 26 ---- Sep 29 ----
In ----------------- 9:04 AM ---------------------- 8:56 AM ----------------
Out --------------- 3:27 PM ---------------------------------------------------
In ----------------- 8:20 AM --------------------------------------------------
Out --------------- 3:46 PM ---------------------------------------------------

Of the above,
9:04 AM & 3:27 PM are for Sep 24
8:20 AM & 3:46 PM are for Sep 25
8:56 AM is for Sep 26
===========================================

We set dialy continuous time as 23:59 and now I suspect this is the source of the problem.
We wanted to maintain a maximum time span.....as we may have employees working long hours.
What do you suggest?
If we do make a suitable change can we apply it to all employees and will this fix the odd entries once applied?

We typically work 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
In some cases we have employees working 12 - 15 hours in extreme cases.

The daily continuous time behavior is changed some in newer releases. (v2.1.0-rc3 or newer)

Its definitely this setting that is causing the issue. I would recommend setting it to 12-15 hours. If you are using a newer release (rc3 or newer I believe) you can lower it even further, down to around 4-5 hours because of the behavior change.

The Administrator Guide explains this feature further.

Once you change it, you will need to update each punch that is affected by it individually. Simply click on it, then hit submit (don't make any changes) and TimeTrex will place it on the proper day.
