Can I import Chrono timeclock data to TimeTrex?

Post by jessmagz »

Sir:

I installed TimeTrex on our system and it's now up and running. But I haven't tested its full functionality yet i.e., entering sample data and the like, because I'm am wondering if it will fit in our current situation.

We are using a Chronolog TimeClock for attendance. It's not directly connected to any PC because it is not capable of doing it (it's an old machine). However, it stores the attendance data in a diskette. My question is:

Can I import these attendance data to TimeTrex? considering that we don't have any other means of getting Time IN/OUT among the employees because not all of the employees are using computers in their work?

The file is in text format and it can be customized in some ways. An example line in the text file is as follows:
0000040309A2007050611254I
0000125617A2007050611255I
0000125570A2007050611255I
0000125566A2007050611256I
0000125631A2007050611256I
0000125594A2007050611256I
0000125479A2007050611257I
0000125633A2007050611258I
0000125633A2007050611600I
0000125633A2007050611600O
0000125479A2007050611600I
0000125479A2007050611600O
0000125569A2007050611600O
0000125608A2007050611600O
0000089426A2007050611600O
0000125623A2007050611600O
0000125562A2007050611600O
0000125607A2007050611600O
0000125603A2007050611600O
The first 10chars=ID No.,
11th char --> A=default (i don't know what's the use)
12th-19th char --> 20070506 = Date
20th --> 1 = Day Number
21st-24th char --> 1600 = time (military)
Last char --> I or O = in or out

It can also output in a columnar form, separated by space, but the data are the same....

Would it be possible to import such data to TimeTrex and would serve as punch IN/OUT? Each employee punches 4 time in a day (we punch IN/OUT during lunch)...

Or can you give me a guide or idea on how to use TimeTrex with a situation like ours...

Thank you...

TimeTrex comes with import tools in the tools/import directory, if you have the expertise you could easily adapt them to import this data.

Alternatively you could purchase one of the new ethernet timeclocks (or other hardware) that we currently offer.
