Manual punches?

Post by techdesign »

I'm probably just missing something simple in the setup of the system, but when I go to use the Add Punch button on the timesheet, it lets me input the data, but when I submit it, I get the following error:

Down for Maintenance
TimeTrex is unable to connect to its database, please make sure that the database has been started and is running.

Is there something I need to do to enable manual punches?

Please delete everything from your TimeTrex cache directory and try again.

That worked perfectly; I cleared /tmp/timetrex on my Linux host system and now it works. Thanks!

There is a good chance this issue will happen again. The reason is likely that you are running the maintenace jobs, or other scripts (such as import/export scripts) as a user other then the user your web server is running as.

This causes a permission conflict with the cache files, and you'll run into strange errors like this if they aren't corrected.

Please make sure that your maintenance jobs are running as the proper user and that any script run manually is also run as the proper user.
