LDAP in CE

We are on Community Edition. We had TT on an older Centos 7 server, and it never auto-upgraded, as I understood this to be a paid feature.

I moved it to a new Rocky9 server but installed v16, moved the database, and ran the upgrade step. At that point, I learned LDAP was removed from the Community version. (maybe add that mention to your v16.0.0 release notes...I found a post on Reddit explaining it)

We don't use our instance for payroll, only timekeeping/schedules, so I opted to install version 15 on the server and restore the database to the older version.

The maintenance job ran last night and auto-updated to v16, but, LDAP is still working. When I went into Company, LDAP Authentication, it didn't say this was a function available only in a paid version like it did the first time I installed v16.

Is this too good to be true? Is this now a feature that's back in 16? Or is this because we had a legacy version that allowed us to keep it?

It's possible that something went wrong during the upgrade process, and your TimeTrex instance is stuck in an in-between version state. If that is the case, it would not be good, of course, as data corruption and seemingly random errors are likely to occur.

Regardless, I can confirm that LDAP functionality is not available in the Community Edition. We simply don't have the volunteer bandwidth to maintain it, especially since it's considered a legacy system due to SSO quickly replacing it.
