mysql problem

I'm trying to install timetrex because I had a drive failure and I'm trying to restore the server, I have a backup of the database and I'm trying to get timetrex to work again but at the install screen it says "Database Engine: Invalid" I know that my installation of mysql is working correctly. If you could help me trouble shoot this I would appreciate it.

Do you have the PHP mysql extension installed properly and loaded?
