Read only directories while installation..

I am trying to install timetrax on windows xp professional on fat file format and i get these message.

Writable Cache Directory: Warning: Not writable (c:\temp\timetrex)
Writable Storage Directory: Warning: Not writable (e:\xampp\htdocs\time\timetrex\storage)
Writable Log Directory: Warning: Not writable (e:\xampp\htdocs\time\timetrex\log)

The problem is that i cant get the folders read only option removed. Everytime uncheck the checkbox for readonly and i check again the folders are readonly. I have checked the steps on micrsosft site to get around this, but doesnt work.
