I am also having problems with punching In/Out. A "gap" is left between the 1st In punch and the 1st Out (Lunch) punch. We have some employees that will need to use the Punch button.
Cron job seems to be running OK.
Process:
Log in as ordinary user.
Go to MyTimesheet.
Click on "Punch" button.
The Pop up window appears, but with this caveat: There's an "Error on Page" displayed in lower-left hand corner. The details of this are:
Line: 1486
Char: 4
Error: Object required
Code: 0
URL: ...../interface/punch/EditPunch.php? \
id=&punch_control_id=&user_id=6&date_stamp=1175484600& \
status_id=undefined
However, I am able to enter the necessary info in the window.
BUT, when I click the "Punch" button to add another punch - say, for lunch - a "gap" appears of two cells - blank "Out" and "In" cells followed by the time I just tried to put in. Adding subsequent time info doesn't backfill the empty slots.

Punch In/Out
This appears to be the same issue as this topic:

Don't use the "Add: Punch" button, click on the blank cell instead. "Add: Punch" should only be used when there are no blank cells available for the day.

Yup, it works.
Works great - I see the light!
