Don't Seem To Understand Meal Policy

I have made a standard meal policy set to Auto-Deduct 1 hour each day. Since our employees cannot punch in/out that easily at noon, I was hoping this was the way to automatically take care of the noon hour break.

But when I punch the employees in at 8:00 AM and then out at 5:00 PM it shows 9 hours worked instead of only 8. Can someone help me with this?

Did you assign that meal policy to any policy groups so TimeTrex knows which employees it applies to?

Also what meal policy settings did you use?
