In/Out Punch Needs Page Refresh

Post by rcurley »

When an employee uses the In / Out selection to create a punch, a new browser window is opened in which they input the information (like department and branch). When they select Submit, it accepts the information and closes the window. However, the original browser window in which their timesheet is shown, does not reflect their latest punch; the window needs to be refreshed before the latest punch shows. This has resulted in people believing that they either didn't punch in/out or that the system did not accept it. Is this normal behavior of the program? If so, how have others worked around it?

Yes, this is by design, as the employee can press the In/Out button from any page within TimeTrex, they don't have to be on their timesheet to do it.

The best way for an employee to know if they did, or did not punch in, is by the In/Out field on the punch window. That will default to what TimeTrex feels is best, so if they go to punch IN, and it defaults to OUT, they know that they have already punched in, and can simply close the window.
