TimeZone difference

Post by vmp »

We are using TimeTrex v2.1.2
Our hosting server was undergoing an upgrade and was temporarily unavailable.
Now that its' back up; all our old punches appear as 6 hours ahead but current punches are as per current local time.
What do you think happened?

Are you using MySQL by chance?

I would try upgrading to the latest version of TimeTrex first, it may help.

Unfortunately though MySQL has virtually no real timezone support and is vulnerable to all sorts of issues like this. Without knowing exactly what your hosting provider did, its hard to say what happened. It sounds like they either changed the timezone of the server, or changed the timezone definitions on the server.

If thats what happened its completely out of the hands of TimeTrex, there isn't much you can do besides getting them to return things to the way they were, or manually modifying the times to correct them.
