Vacation Accrual

Post by kplunkert »

The company I work for accrues vacation from January through October, I am not making this up.

Is there anyway to set a policy to accrue vacation just for the first 10 months of the year?

Not at this time, no.

If you can explain in more detail how the actual accrual works I may be able to suggest an alternative.

We often run into companies with exceptionally complex accrual policies that are designed to work around specific "issues", but more often then not they do the exact opposite, especially if they are currently handled manually.

Vacation Accrual

Post by kplunkert »

The specific policy for instance for new consultants accrue 80 hours of vacation at a rate of 4 hrs per two week pay period until Nov 1st and then they get no more vacation.

I was thinking about setting up the policy so that it appears to accrue 4 hours every pay period and put a big note on my calendar to deactivate the policy Nov. 1st

Thank you very much for your help

Do you know the actual reason behind stopping the accrual on November 1st? What is the company trying to accomplish by doing this?
