Automatic Upgrade failed

Post by westley »

Hi,

Timetrex is working ok, but when I login I get this error message across the top:

WARNING: TimeTrex automatic upgrade has failed due to a system error! Please contact your TimeTrex administrator immediately to re-run the TimeTrex installer.

So, I ran apt-get install /var/cache/apt/archives/TimeTrex_Community_Edition.deb

Got this in response:
Note, selecting 'timetrex-community-edition' instead of '/var/cache/apt/archives/TimeTrex_Community_Edition.deb'
timetrex-community-edition is already the newest version (11.2.4).

Thanks,
Westley

It looks like your .deb file is from v11.2.4, not v11.2.5 (which is the latest version as of this post). So you will need to make sure you download the .deb for v11.2.5 and apt-get install that.

Got it.

Two questions:
1) How can I troubleshoot why the automatic update failed?
2) About how long should a manual update take? It's been running for about 15-20 minutes now.

Thanks,

Have been in Maintenance Mode now for 3 1/2 hours. Is this expected?

Need to run payroll reports in the morning. :(

Login screen is showing version v11.2.5-20180717-212240

Problem solved, at least so far as I can access TimeTrex now.

After running apt-get install, there was a message to just goto http://hostname/timetrex which just brings me to the login screen.

It should have told me to go to http://hostname/timetrex/interface/install/install.php

Also, it seems to have rewritten my SALT key and passwords no longer worked. Had to turn on the Password Override feature.
