Down for Maintenance issue

I am having a problem when setting up the pay period in TimeTrex.
Whenever the information is put in and Submit is pressed it comes up
with an error message that TimeTrex is down for maintenance and the
process has to be started over. Is there anything I can do to stop this
and get past this part of the process?

The down for maintenance page appears when TimeTrex can't connect to your database or gets an error running a query. Check your PHP error logs, the TimeTrex log, and maybe even your database error logs for more information.

It is only appearing though when trying to set the initial Pay Period Schedule. Everything worked fine so far except for this part. I am not seeing anything in the logs either.
